How to Find Books & Articles

Finding Books

Library Services found in the Learning Commons has print books and e-Books that are best found through the online catalog.  If you want to find a book use the catalog .

Books in the Learning Commons are shelved by subject and have Call Numbers that can be considered the address of a book.  The call numbers are usually found on the spine of the books like in this picture.

Finding Articles in Magazines or Newspapers

Articles are a great place to start research since they often provide overviews and summaries.  The Learning Commons has print newspapers and magazines in print.  Thousands of articles can be found online through library databases that are available to ALL students.  All databases can be accessed here but ask a librarian at the Information Desk for help with using the databases.
